![]() ![]() There are also late-game sets and uniques that can completely change the nature of a build, taking it from mediocre to absolutely smashing, from transmuting incidental damage types into your chosen focus, to adding additional damage from your weapons into a skill, making that into a spamable juggernaut of destruction. Or, you could make a more traditional caster build, with a cold/lightning damage focus, using the Olextra's Flash Freeze and Trozan's Sky Shard from Arcanist and combining it with Shaman's Lightning Totem and Dust Devils. You can take it into a melee build with Savagery/Primal Strike, and let Arcanist buff you with Iskanda's Elemental Exchange, Maiven's Sphere of Protection, and Mirror of Ereoctes, focusing on lightning and physical damage. Shaman has skills that deal and buff cold/lightning damage, to a delightfully synergistic degree. Arcanist specializes in elemental and aether damage, but elemental is just a fancy way of saying frost, lightning, and fire damage. Wendigo totem is recommended for anything that dips long and hard enough into Shaman, but it is optional enough, especially if you invest into defensive devotions with healing properties.Īnother example is Arcanist and Shaman. You don't even have to touch the summoning skills. Shamans can buff physical damage through the Mogdrogen's Pact line, plus they have skills that love two handed-weapons. In my experience, you want to concentrate on a major line of abilities, then choose a class that supplements it's damage of choice, typically one or two damage types.įor example, Soldiers are all about the physical damage. So, what kind of character do you like? There are a few weak class combinations, but they're few and far between. I seem to like mostly mobile active play, where I hit buttons, and badguys die, and I can go where I please!Īny other suggestions? Something else I could pair Arcanist with? Anything I could do with Inquisitor? I just want to try more things! I didn't like blackwater cocktail or thermite mines, and a lot of stuff seemed to require those. I was planning to go Demolitionist, but that class doesn't seem to be doing it for me, either. ![]() I got Arcanist up to 8 or so, but didn't seem to be digging it. Can I do without it? I also don't like pets. but it turns out that I hate Wendigo totem. I thought I was digging my Shaman/Soldier. Fast, lots of tricks, can close with ranged easily, good against solos or groups. Thus far, I seem to be best with my Nightblade/Soldier. I've gotten 3 up to levels 20-25, and at least three more up to less than that. Except I'm constantly changing what class I play. So, I've been playing this a fair bit since I recently picked it up. ![]()
